ENGINEERING-LED PROCUREMENT

Source Against a Defined Design Basis

Our China procurement service organizes supplier matching and quote comparisons around the requirements your engineer and local authority establish. Technical approval remains with the selected supplier and qualified project professionals.

Engineering review for steel building

One project basis, two aligned reviews

Buyer input

Location, wind speed, snow load, seismic basis, span, eave height, use, fire strategy and foundation interface form the inquiry record. A local engineer determines the applicable code and approval route.

Supplier response

We request frame design assumptions, steel grade, purlin system, bolted connections, corrosion protection and envelope performance. Gaps are returned for clarification before commercial comparison.

Material and welding evidence sequence

  1. Material schedule

Identify primary and secondary steel grades and ask for traceable mill certificates for the offered batch.

  2. Fabrication controls

Request relevant welding procedures, inspection points and dimensional checks from the proposed supplier.

  3. Coating scope

Clarify galvanizing or paint system, nominal thickness and exposure assumptions before order placement.

  4. Acceptance route

Arrange independent inspection coordination against an agreed checklist; project acceptance remains with the buyer and its professionals.

Engineering document request list

Documents are requested for each RFQ and supplied only when the shortlisted supplier can substantiate them.

The buyer and its local engineer should also establish whether the building is temporary or permanent under the destination rules. That classification can change the permit route, fire requirements, accessibility expectations and documentation package. We ask the proposed supplier to separate confirmed values from assumptions so a low initial price does not hide unresolved engineering work.

For wall and roof systems, a panel label alone is not enough. Request core material, thickness, density and thermal data, then verify any fire claim at the assembly level, including joints, doors and penetrations. Compare PIR, mineral wool and EPS options against the actual occupancy and local review requirements.

Export planning also belongs in the technical comparison. Member lengths, bundle weights and lifting points affect container utilization and site equipment. A supplier should state whether the quoted package includes anchor bolts, trims, fasteners, erection drawings and spare components. We coordinate these questions before the buyer treats proposals as comparable.
